We were out on Pine Flat Road, outside of Healdsburg, on a photo excursion, and to check out what changes occurred on the narrow, winding road during this series of storms. Of course, there were a lot of trees down (mostly trees that had burned a couple of years ago during a fire that swept across the hills) and there were some small slides and chunks of rock in the road (I got out and moved some of them).
I missed several shots because there was nowhere to turn out on the road and in certain places, although there isn’t much traffic, the road is narrow, and on blind curves it is too dangerous to stop in the middle of the road. The light was soft and gray, not revealing colors, but certainly nice for some moody landscape and tree shots.
It was nice to get out and about, to see the birds, squirrels, and deer; to check out the creeks and waterfalls and just to breathe the rain-washed air. Nice. Very, very nice.
Count blessings.
